All of our VPS services are deployed on shared 1Gbps ports. Single threaded network performance can also vary significantly given macro network factors, and in this case the results aren’t bad considering it is a single threaded test to a remote/external location. For your reference, a 1Gbps port is around 100 MB/s under extremely ideal conditions… so it looks like you were able to achieve pretty close to that, given the fact this is a test to a remote server location too. The issue you were seeing may potentially be unrelated to the network speeds of the VPS as this test shows that you are able to utilize and burst close to the 1Gbps shared port.
